Fluent in several Asian languages and with close to a decade of commercial property experience, Nicolas Ching is the latest welcome addition to the NAI Harcourts Auckland Central team.

He joins as sales director and will also be responsible for the development and growth of the business, including an Asian investment division.

Ching, formerly of Bayleys and Colliers, has a large network of commercial investors on his database and is keen to utilise his connections to benefit NAI Harcourts in the Auckland CBD and city fringe.

“It’s exciting coming on board with NAI Harcourts. It’s a young brand and I’m looking forward to the challenge of shaping NAI’s presence in Auckland.”

Ching will initially be working with a team of seven, but intends to double that number within a short period of time.

“Initially recruitment will be a key task, together with driving sales and leases. With the right team and the global reach of NAI Harcourts, I believe we will make massive inroads into the central Auckland commercial property market,” Ching says.

NAI Harcourts Auckland Central business owner George Erdos says recruiting Ching is a huge coup for his office. His presence will be a catalyst for attracting experienced real estate professionals.

“We are thrilled to welcome Nic to the team. He is highly experienced, a slick operator and his network of contacts and fluency in Asian languages will be of great benefit.

“The Asian market is important to our business and bringing Nic on board recognises this,” Erdos says.

NAI Harcourts General Manager Michael Grainger says attracting a sales director of Ching’s calibre is a good indication that NAI Harcourts is now a major player.

“NAI Harcourts was created just four years ago but we’ve worked hard to establish a national reach, with over 100 sales consultants able to cover every corner of the country. The Auckland CBD is vital and Nic will be driving our growth there.”

The end of financial year figures for NAI Harcourts demonstrate a commercial group that is already achieving significant levels of growth in market share. The value of commercial property sold in the financial year ending 31 March 2014 increased by 51% on the previous year. There was also an 80% increase on the number of properties sold at auction.
