Since its inception in 2010, NAI Harcourts has grown to become a major player in New Zealand’s commercial property market, achieving over half a billion dollars in written sales over the past 12 months.
Leading the group in the next phase of its expansion will be newly appointed General Manager Michael Grainger.
Mr Grainger replaces Richard Laery, who has been promoted to the position of NAI Harcourts CEO of Australasia.
Harcourts CEO Hayden Duncan says NAI Harcourts’ ability to attract a team of top professionals has been a key driver of the group’s success, and this continues with the appointment of Mr Grainger.
“Mike has an extensive background in commercial property, through agency business and management, and most recently at Westfield New Zealand. He has the vision to push NAI Harcourts’ growth going forward and we are thrilled to have him take on the leadership role.”
NAI Harcourts has already made significant achievements in its three years of operation.
The team has grown to 117 full time professionals operating from over 61 locations across the country. Written sales have increased by 95% since August 2010.
Some standouts from this year have included the opening of two new Auckland NAI Harcourts offices and the acquisition of the Hawkes Bay’s largest independent commercial real estate company. The $11m plus auction of four high profile ASB branches was also a highlight.
Mr Grainger says he has followed the growth of NAI Harcourts with interest and is excited about the future prospects of the group.
“With the backing of two real estate power houses, NAI Global and Harcourts, NAI Harcourts has the resources to continue to expand. My priority will be to drive the recruitment of exceptional people and increase our market share.
“NAI Harcourts New Zealand has settled over half a billion dollars in the past 12 months. That’s phenomenal for a group that’s only three years old and is the result of the hard work of an incredible team. I’m very confident about NAI Harcourts’ future growth,” Mr Grainger says.
Harcourts CEO Hayden Duncan also wishes Richard Laery all the best in his new role as NAI Harcourts CEO of Australasia. Mr Laery will be based in Brisbane and responsible for overseeing the growth of the brand throughout Australia and New Zealand.
“Under Richard as General Manager, the NAI Harcourts New Zealand team has prospered. I have no doubt Richard will bring the same passion and determination to his new role and the wider Australasian NAI Harcourts business.”
NAI Harcourts was established in 2009, combining the resources of NAI Global and Harcourts International. NAI Global is the largest managed commercial real estate network in the world. Harcourts International is a fast growing Australasian-based franchise network with a strong foundation in the residential property market. They share a common objective: to be the leading force in the Australian and New Zealand commercial real estate markets.
